MOMENTUM, the Nordic Biennale of Contemporary Art, is delighted to announce the participating artists for its 13th edition, Between/Worlds: Resonant Ecologies.
Curated by Morten Søndergaard, this year’s biennale explores the transformative power of sound as a medium for artistic exploration, inviting audiences to engage with the resonant ecologies that surround us.
Taking place from June 14 to October 12, 2025, at Galleri F 15 in Moss, Norway, MOMENTUM 13 will feature an array of international and Nordic artists whose work intersects with sound, technology, and media while investigating the liminal spaces between human and non-human worlds.
Through approximately 40 projects, including installations, performances, site-specific works, concerts, and workshops, MOMENTUM 13 offers a dynamic programme that unfolds across and in transit between five distinct zones: the post-industrial city of Moss, the forests of Alby, the Oslo Fjord, the volcanic island of Jeløy, and the historic buildings and museum spaces of Galleri F 15.
The artists participating in Between/Worlds: Resonant Ecologies are Natasha Barrett (UK/Norway), Ralf Baecker (Germany), Christian Boltanski (France), Janet Cardiff & George Bures Miller (Canada), Frank Ekeberg (Norway), Douglas Gordon (UK/Germany), Antye Greie-Ripatti (AGF) (Germany/Finland), HC Gilje (Norway), Marie Højlund, Julian Toldahm Juhlin & Christian Albrechtsen (Denmark), Annie Mahtani (UK), Brona Martin (Ireland/UK), Christian Marclay (US/Switzerland/UK/Germany), Louise Mackenzie (UK), Mogens Jacobsen (Denmark), Jo Kazuhiro (Japan), Arendse Krabbe (Denmark), Jacob Kirkegaard (Denmark), William Kudahl (Denmark), Kalle Laar (Latvia/Germany/Austria), Stephanie Loveless (Canada), Juan Pablo Pacheco Bejarano (Colombia), Takuro Oshima (Japan), Leena Lee (Mexico) & Robertina Šebjanič (Slovenia), Mélia Roger (France), Tulle Ruth (Denmark/Norway), Luz María Sánchez(Mexico/Norway), Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm (Denmark), Charles Stankievech (Canada), Maia Urstad (Norway), Carl Michael von Hausswolff (Sweden), Jana Winderen (Norway), and Amanda Gutiérrez (Mexico) & Freya Zinovieff (Canada).

This edition of MOMENTUM delves into the unseen and under-heard worlds that shape our everyday existence. Sound, as both a perceptual and physical force, has the power to reveal connections, narratives, and transformations that exist between landscapes, histories, and species. Between/Worlds: Resonant Ecologies challenges traditional human-centric artistic perspectives, instead positioning art as a medium for navigating the entangled and overlapping worlds that surround us—whether natural, technological, or speculative.
Curator Morten Søndergaard remarks,
“The artists of MOMENTUM 13 are sonic explorers, revealing the vibrations that shape our shared spaces. Their works invite us to listen beyond the surface and discover the interconnected ecologies of sound, technology, and the environment.”
Galleri F 15 and MOMENTUM director, Lise Pennington, adds,
“This remarkable group of artists brings a global perspective to MOMENTUM 13, each offering a unique voice in our exploration of resonance and perception. Their contributions will explore how we experience the world through sound.”
By amplifying sound’s ability to traverse boundaries, Between/Worlds: Resonant Ecologies rethinks the relationship between art, ecology, and the human experience, proposing an alternative understanding of coexistence through resonance and vibration. Over the course of MOMENTUM 13, visitors are invited to engage with works that unearth hidden narratives and to listen deeply to the stories of crisis and transformation that shape our collective futures.
Experience the reverberations of Between/Worlds: Resonant Ecologies, where sound becomes a portal to expanded perception and new artistic encounters. For updates, visit momentum.no or follow us on Instagram .
